What you're seeing are actually just xbox trolls who never owned anything Playstation, I really don't know how you fail to see that, except if you're one of those trolls. It's called the vocal minority over the silent majority .

Is that really the reason? Do you have a link to a website that elaborates on that? Why would Sony have to pay license fees that Microsoft wouldn't have to pay?
Anyway, it's probably not definitive. Bethesda themselves say on their website that they'll add them mods on Playstation if they manage to solve this issue with Sony.

One thing I've always wondered about people who game on their PC is, do you find it confortable to be sitting at your desk on a chair during the hours your gaming time can last? I'm sitting on a very unconfortable chair as I'm typing this and could not ever imagine gaming for hours while sitting on it. It's a honest question, really, I'm not trying to troll or anything. My PC is in my bedroom on my desk, my console in my living room (the next room), I wish I could find a w...

You mean for Rocket League? When has Sony said no to cross-network play exactly?

edit: What? Charge gamers for a 4K patch??? Sorry to put it so bluntly, but did you just pull that out of your a$$?

I'm not sure it's because Sony said "no nudes in mods" or anything like that to be honest, they've always be known to be more tolerant about that than all the rest ever since the prime days of the PS1.
In my opinion it's rather a case where they said "alright to mods with a few exceptions, the ones that could be used by hackers as a backdoor, we don't want the 2011 fiasco to repeat itself", and Bethesda responding "it's all the mods or...

@ EpicSandwich
That beast will maul your wallet, trust me, there are already leaks here and there from people who work at Microsoft, or from people that know others that do, saying, though perhaps in not so many words, that Microsoft may have let their tongue slip in a moment of hysteria by announcing a 6 TFLOPS console right after they heard the rumors of what we now know to be the PS4 Pro, and that it could prove to be unexpectedly difficult, if not impossible, to put a console on ...

Interesting read, but I didn't understand this part:
"So, Sony's solution was to create a new error correction tech that inverts certain chunks of data, which throws off the older players, preventing them from trying to play the new discs at all. Their error correction system fails because it doesn't know some of the data has been flipped around. "

Anyway, it's nice to see there's maybe still hope for UHD BR playback to be added later ...

"Microsoft f(...) claims power superiority"
----------------------------- ----------------------------
PS4 Pro: 4.20 TFLOPS > PS4: 1.84 TFLOPS > Xbox one/Xbox one S: 1.23 TFLOPS
How has Microsoft the power superiority again?
They made the choice to have an UHD BR player and keep a weak ass console, whatever floats their boat. They're not willing to commit to gaming as it seems.

"The performance delta will be obvious," said Penello.

LOL, Microsoft throwing the bait right before your eyes to try and catch some of those darn fishes swimming towards the PS4 Pro. Your scorpio will be too late to the party MS!

"However, the PC version of Rise of the Tomb Raider 4K features superior shadowing (partly thanks to NVIDIA’s voxel based Ambient Occlusion, also known as VXAO), textures and postprocessing (such as Depth of Field); everything just looks crisper by a fair amount"

Honestly by that picture alone I don't see anything crisper by any amount, the main difference seems to be that the PS4's contrast setting is lower than the PC one. The background actually is more ...

I wanted to catch a glimpse of its capabilities and had started downloading the 4-part Playstation Meeting of yesterday in 4K from youtube, but for some reason my PC can't play it. I'm lucky if I even catch a glimpse of Mr House's face. Anyone knows why? I didn't know it took a beast of a PC even to just play 4K vids, not video games!

edit: thanks rainslacker. Upvoted you rcomment! ;-)

"His delivery was boring, scripted and devoid of any real emotion"

Dammit the amount of misinformation you can read on some sites:

"Specifically, the PlayStation 4 Pro can support "4K streaming and 4K auto-upscaling for video content." Much like the Xbox One S, this means that the support is only for 4K video, with games being aided by the HDR functionality. Some might be disappointed by this news, but frankly, it's unrealistic to expect 4K gaming on a console anytime soon."

"the overarching feeling that I was left with was that when it comes to the future of gaming, Microsoft now firmly has the upper hand"

They have the upper hand because...? They have UHD BR support on the xbox one s? What else? So it's because of 4K movies? So why talk about "the future of gaming" then?
"thosegamers"... right, I think I know what kind of gamers we're talking about right there. :p

"The head of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Andrew House has claimed there is not enough consumer interest in 4K UHD discs to support the format on the new PlayStation 4 Pro."

With all due respect Mr House, I think you're wrong. Not implementing UHD BR playback on the PS4 Pro is a mistake. You should've stayed coherent with the business moves carried out by other divisions within Sony.
It's one of those cases again of one of Sony's head (...

Good read. I'm curious why the article is on eurogamer and not digital foundry's site. Anyway, a few things I didn't understand:
"Speaking to Naughty Dog at the event, we were told that The Last of Us Remastered - just like its base PS4 version - will have a 30Hz mode that features enhanced image quality"

The PS4 Pro is more powerful than the xbox one s though, that comes at a cost that you need to factor in when evaluating the price of Sony's Pro.
It was basically a choice between making the console more powerful or adding UHD BR playback, in order to stay below the 400$/€ mark.
